  1. Politics aside, it’s still a fun movie. Here’s a question: Are we supposed to know how the pods take over the people? It’s not clear to me at all. (It’s been 20 years since I’ve seen it.) So these pods grow into replicas of people, right? Why, then, do they need the bodies of actual people? And how do the pods merge with the human bodies when they sleep?

    Maybe I’m missing something obvious, but still…

    I’m interested in seeing the ’70s remake with Donald Sutherland and Leonard Nimoy.

  2. Hey Brent. You have put your finger on the flaw in the plot. Good memory over 20 years, old man! As I recall correctly the 70s remake doesn’t have this hole in the plot but I don’t want to ruin it for you.

    It caused problems for Wife-Unit in her enjoyment of the movie but I feel like it is an early Sci-fi classic and should be given an easy ride because it is so damn enjoyable!
